and much more... 17 bolts in all!

Meredith and I have also been very busy restocking the hand-dyed wool; rusty oranges, old golds, old St. Nick red, pea soup green and more. We have a lot of fun dyeing wool!

Hot New Notions

Mary Ellen's Best Press - There's no flaking, clogging, or white residue on dark fabrics. A special stain shield protects fabrics and Best Press helps resist wrinkles. Best of all, it's more effective than any starch you've ever used.

Crafter's mini spinner - The tiny tote with spinning possibilities. Holds all your "tools"!

The gripper's single suction cup will work with smooth surface rulers and templates under 4in wide. Use it on all small rulers and templates with the same gripping power as its big sister.

Pin fabric pieces to design wall. Step back and view through reducing glass. Study color balance, value of light and dark contrasts and effect of developing pattern.

New Punchneedle Patterns

Shepard's Shade is 6" x 11" and is punched with 6 strands of DMC floss or hand-dyed floss and uses the medium size needle. It really looks like a small hooked rug! We are making the sample now with Valdani hand-dyed floss and I can't wait to see it finished. We will have thread kits available shortly

Mini pins are so fun to make! Make as pins or frame them.

  Buck-A Block

Yes, we are starting April 1st a new year of Buck a Block and wait ‘til you see it! We have chosen P&B's newest collection, Gramercy Park. This opulent, luxuriant floral collection is bursting with rich color and dense abundance. The main floral has large-scale roses and peonies, with morning glory, hibiscus and other flowers. Finishing kits of sashing and border fabric will be available.

Rules are the same as last year: $1.00 each month, you can pick up your block anytime during the month, but you must pick up your own block.  If you miss a block, the next block is $3.00 to get you started again.  Last year we had over 130 quilters participate.  Join in on the fun with the best deal in town!

Tips & Hints

When you stitch the label on the back of your quilt, place a few 2" to 4" pieces of the fabrics used in the quilt top behind the label (between the quilt back and the label). This way, if the quilt ever needs to be repaired, you will have the right fabrics on hand to make a nice matching repair.  Additionally, they will have been laundered at the same rate as the quilt and should blend nicely.
