sought-after event of the summer!
We have
over 20 various quilters/sewers who have cleaned out their stash and are
offering great bargains on all sewing and quilting needs. Fabric, books,
patterns, UFO’s, and notions for quilting, sewing and needlework are just a few
of the offerings at great bargain prices. For your non-quilting friends, there
will be finished quilts and bags for sale too! Come fill your stash with not
what you need but with what you want at great prices.
Parking: We have received permission to use the EconoLodge’s parking lot
next door to us. Parking is also available in the Park & Ride parking lot
across the street. You can also park on the right hand side of Pine St. (side
street that runs behind us) Please do not park on the grassy areas or in the
back parking lot as this is where we are set up.
It's gonna be big!

Stencilscape Class with
Red Rooster Fabric
Designer Jackie Paton
Saturday, Sept 25th,

Cotton Weeds is so
excited to have Jackie Paton, fabric designer for Red Rooster Fabrics, come
teach her stencilscape technique. Anyone can do this! No painting
experience or artistic ability is necessary! You’ll be making an
adorable wall hanging with sheep, houses, and crows as Jackie teaches you
her fool-proof technique of painting on fabric with freezer paper
stencils. You will leave with the completed painted portion of Good
Neighbors and the pattern to complete the quilt portion of the project. Sign
up early as class size is limited. Come see Jackie’s beautiful sample. Class
fee is $65.00 plus $15.00 supplies fee payable to Jackie for paints,
brushes, etc. Bring your lunch. A yummy dessert will be served in the
afternoon.

Linus Blanket Day
Saturday, Sept 11th,

blanket handmade with love.”
Cotton Weeds is proud to be a supporter of Project Linus, so we have
scheduled a special day to make quilts for this worthwhile cause. Kits will
be available in exchange for 2 yards of flannel from the Cumberland County,
Maine Chapter of Project Linus or you may provide your own materials.
Cotton Weeds will provide a light lunch and dessert for those
participating. Advance sign-up is required. Please help us make MANY
security blankets for children who need them.

Fall Open House
Come
join us for our annual Fall Open House on September 18 and 19. Class
samples will be displayed and there will be a 20% discount on class fees
(except Stencilscape Class) for those signing up and paying for classes on
these 2 days. Watch your emails or our website for more information to

Jo's Little Women'
Club

You are invited to step back in time and
join Jo Morton club. If you're a lover of reproduction fabrics and you
love to make reproduction quilts...Jo Morton's Little Women' club is for
you. She has the best patterns and books and you'll love making all of them.
Here's how the club works. We meet the 3rd Thursday of each month (in
our spacious new classroom!) from 6:30-8:30 pm for a
a
short program, a project introduction, a yummy dessert, door prizes, and
great company. The cost of the club is $90.00, for which you will
receive a fat quarter bundle of Jo’s fabrics, the current patterns or
book and the 6 classes/meetings. The current club has already had one
meeting but we still have a few openings. We would love to have you join
us and we will bring you up to speed on the projects.

Cocheco Quilt Show

Weeds will be a vendor again this year at the Cocheco Quilt Show, October 16 &
17, 10:00-4:00, at the Rochester Community Center on Wakefield St., in
Rochester, NH. It is a wonderful show and we hope to see many of you there.

Holiday Open House

“Over
the River and Through the Woods” is the theme for a holiday event sponsored by
Cotton Weeds, Calico Basket Quilt Shop in Windham, and Quiltessentials in
Auburn. Make the rounds between all three shops for a fun weekend filled with
demonstrations, prizes, gift making suggestions, and of course, yummy treats.
